Diesel: No Longer for douchebags?

Diesel took an unexpected turn with this series of ads for their fall/winter 09 collection. It’s pretty “out there,” especially when we’re used to Diesel putting out sexed-up crap like this. It’s hard to judge how good/bad this campaign is because the style is so difficult to categorize.

I really like it. What do you guys think?

Ad concepts like this really grab your attention because they are so unusual. These images are interesting because they offer a look that, while confusing, is very conceptual and unique. I’m happy that Diesel, longstanding douchebags, had the balls to pull this off.

Another cool fact, one of these adds references the title to the play Six Characters in Search of An Author by Luigi Pirandello which is considered a staple of modernist (or is it post?) drama. I feel like the vibe of the adds fits the reference, but I may be stretching
