This is the most eloquent reasoning for getting a tattoo I have encountered. Ever. My hesitations are the same (hence my lack of tattoos and plethora of tattooed friends) but this logic is sound. In fact, it's the same reason I do most things.

I completely agree.

When my friends and family don't understand why I would get tattoo'd I try to explain how it's natural for me. Those of us in a creative field tend to surround ourselves with many different art forms. If my life is dedicated to art, why wouldn't my body reflect that passion as well?

I have a tattoo of the name of a cabin (at summer camp) that my best friend & I met at. We've been friends for 18 years since then.

Could something change that we never talk to each other again? Maybe (but unlikely.)

Even if something were to happen--it's hard to deny how important that part of my life has been to me & how it's shaped me.
